We welcome you and your family to Hawker School and the school community. Hawker School distributes a fortnightly newsletter on even weeks which will keep you informed on school events. Another great way of staying connected is to follow the latest news feed and sync the calendar on the Hawker School website to your devices.
Our assembly’s take place on a Friday on even weeks if you would like to attend.
Uniforms
Hawker School uniforms are bottle green bottoms and a gold polo shirt. The uniforms were selected in 1975 to match the colours of Australia.
The school has a uniform shop which is run by the P&C and offers a selection of second hand uniforms. Opening hours can be viewed here.

Start and Finish Times
The school day starts at 9am and finishes at 3pm Monday - Fridays. There is teacher supervision every morning from 8.40am for Kindergarten to Yr6.
Our preschool sessions are a five day fortnight and we currently run two groups p/week:
- Monday, Tuesday and every second Wednesday 9am-3pm (Bilibies)
- Every second Wednesday,Thursday and Friday 9am-3pm (Geckos)

Before and After School Care (BASC)
Before and after school care is provided at Hawker School from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our BASC provider is YWCA. Care is provided: 7.30am - 9am & 3pm - 6pm on school days

Lunch Clubs
Hawker school offers a variety of different lunch clubs, please click here for the latest information.
Canteen
Our school canteen is currently open Fridays. All orders can be made via Flexischools and over the counter sales are available. Please click here for further information.
Bookpacks
Our school provides all of the stationery your child will need for learning. Book pack contributions go directly towards your child's resources in the classroom. Please click here for further information and payment details.

Voluntary Contributions
Annual voluntary financial contributions go directly towards your child’s education. Please click here for further information and payment details.
Notes
Most of your notes are sent via email, occasionally hard copies are sent home with students. If you think you may have missed something please go to our Notes section on the website.
Medical
If your child has an ongoing medical condition, please speak with the front office to discuss the most suitable forms.
If your child has to take medication regularly or for a short period of time you must complete a medical authorisation and administration form. Please drop this completed form at the front office with the medication in the original container with the official dispense label.
All students must complete a medical consent form annually.
P&C
The Hawker School P&C is always looking for new members. If you would like to connect with the Hawker School community, make some lovely new friends and while supporting your child’s school, consider joining the P&C. Please email the P&C if you would like to offer your services in any way.
If you intend on helping out on a regular basis you will need to apply for a working with vulnerable people’s card.
